Beginners Chorley Bowmen welcomes new members. Membership is open to people of any age, although children must be at least 8 years old and juniors must be accompanied by a parent / guardian at all times whilst shooting. Anyone wishing to join the club must have successfully completed a recognised beginners course or be a current member of Archery GB. All members and beginners must abide by the Archery GB Rules of Shooting and follow all safety requirements and any specific club rules. Beginners Courses We hold regular beginners courses throughout the year, which are supervised by our own coaching staff who are accredited by Archery GB. Naturally, our beginner’s course operates to strict safety standards but it is also designed to make your initial experience of archery an enjoyable one.
The programme comprises six lessons, delivered over six consecutive weeks at a total cost of only £45 for adults and £38 for juniors (i.e. under 18 years of age)*. This fee covers;
After the course On completion of the course, all successful beginners, i.e. those who are able to demonstrate the required level of competence, will be awarded a signed ‘Certificate of Achievement’. They are then eligible to join the club and will get a membership discount fee of £10.
All members are expected to have their own equipment. However, if you are a beginner, then we strongly advise that you do not buy any equipment before first speaking to one of our coaches because it is very easy to spend money on equipment that looks okay but is in fact not right for you. When you join Chorley Bowmen, you are welcome to shoot alongside regular club members and, if you have any queries (no matter how trivial they may appear), then simply ask. Our coaches are always at hand to offer help and support. If you would like to register your interest for the next available course, then please do so by clicking here » *Please note, the course fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. |
